Is RNA and DNA the same?

Again, a question regarding my school project about viruses. I keep getting RNA then DNA as parts of a virus...which one is in a virus? both, none, or 1 of them? are they the same? are they different? how are they different...oh and if you can, please give the definition of them in words that I can actually understand?
