What do men do in the bathroom for an hour?

I haven't mentioned this to my significant other, but I don't understand why my boyfriend spends hours at a time in the bathroom. When we are about to go somewhere and he announces that he has to use the bathroom, I usually set my purse down and get comfortable watching a movie. Why do men spend an hour or more in the bathroom? Is there a secret society meeting you need to attend in there? Are you writing a novel? When he takes in his crossword puzzles and Ipod, I know I won't see him again until dinner time. If it's alone time he needs, why the bathroom?
