Question about Stephen King books "Desperation" and "The Regulators."?

What King did in those stories was to, deliberately, take all the same characters, but make them into their opposites basically. So the hero of one is not the hero of the other and so on. It's kind of cool how you get to see them changed, but one hint for you..if you really liked one character on 'Regulators' don't count on liking him/her so much in 'Desperation.' And that is all I will say.
