Should I marry my Arab boyfriend and move back to Syria with him?

We have been together for over a year. He treats me very well. He will only be in the US for another year completing a temporary work ignment. He is a doctor (rheumatologist) He asked me to marry him. His permanent job is in Syria and he wants me to go home to his country. Has anyone been in this kind of situation? I appreciate your advice.
