Why cant the people get who they vote for?

Now this is the 2nd time in history that the majority is not getting who they are voting for. I am so sick of seeing this. First we are stuck with Bush now we are going to be stuck with Obama because of the freaking delegates. Why is the delegate vote and the electoral college so much more important then what the PEOPLE want????
