Idk what im doing w.this guy help !?

so i started talking to this kid 2 months ago. we hung out and hooked up. by the end of the first month we had . but i really really liked him. then i found out he had just started talking to his ex again. so i got mad but he told me shes moving to venezuela in a month so i was like w.e and we kept talking two weeks later we had again & hooked up & hung out w.e she is now leaving in like a week and he says he really likes me and wants a relationship with me. but im not sure if to trust him or not after what he did to his gf. HELP.
